Juliana Fisher ( Ballet Instructor)
Juliana is a retired professional ballet dancer. She trained locally in Phoenix, Arizona, receiving her advanced training from the Arizona School of Classical Ballet and Ballet Arizona. She also spent summers studying at the Rock School for Dance Education (Philadelphia), the Joffrey Ballet San Antonio Workshop, and the University of Oklahoma School of Dance. Juliana received merit scholarships to train with the Milwaukee Ballet and State Street Ballet schools. Prior to embarking on her professional career, she was an academic and merit scholarship student at the University of Oklahoma, which has one of the top ballet training programs in the nation. She graduated from OU's Honors College and the College of Fine Arts with a BFA in Ballet Performance and a Spanish minor.
The majority of Juliana's professional career was spent as a company member with The Georgia Ballet. She has also been a company member of Convergence Ballet Company, Terpsicore Dance Company, and Oklahoma Festival Ballet. She has performed repertoire from Balanchine to Ballets Russes to full-length classical ballets to contemporary works, in addition to appearing as a principal guest artist around the country.
Juliana has been an esteemed ballet teacher for many years, bringing her real-world experience as a professional ballerina to her students, providing them with strong technique and up-to-date knowledge . In 2012, she won the Classical Ballet Teacher of the Year award from the Destined 2 Dance program. She has a multi-year history of improving the technical mastery of competition students that has been noticed and remarked upon by competition judges. In addition to experience teaching in classical ballet programs and competition studios, Juliana has taught the intermediate and advanced ballet levels at Paradise Valley Community College as an adjunct faculty member.
